Areas of specialty and approach to treatment

Galia is a Naturopathic Primary Care Physician who runs a general practice in treating a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions. She is passionate about alliances with other health care practitioners such as General Practitioners, Oncologists, Surgeons, and other specialists in providing individuals with the most comprehensive health care. Her training in mainstream medicine, pharmacology, and clinical training give her a comprehensive understanding of integrative medicine.
Galia practices through the functional medicine approach - a personalised medicine that deals with the primary prevention and underlying causes, instead of treating symptoms for serious chronic disease. It is a science based field of health care that revolves around:

    • Biochemical individuality: Every person’s individual genetic makeup is different.
    • Patient centred: Centred on patient care rather than “disease care.”
    • Addressing internal and external influences: E.g. Genetics versus lifestyle.
    • Web-like interconnections: The human body functions as an orchestrated network of interconnected systems. For example, lowered immunity can affect cardiovascular health.
    • Health as a positive vitality - not merely the absence of disease.
    • Promotion of healthy organs in a way to enhance overall health.

Some of the treatment modalities that Galia uses in her practice include: nutritional medicine and dietary therapy, vitamin/mineral supplementation, botanical (herbal) medicine, Chinese medicine and needling, homeopathy, vitamin injections, Bowen therapy and lifestyle counseling.
Some of the conditions that Galia is experienced in treating include:

    • Cancer.
    • Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
    • Nervous system disorders such as depression and anxiety.
    • Gastrointestinal conditions including: IBS, constipation, inflammatory bowel disease, reflux and hiatus hernias.
    • Immune conditions including infections, glandular fever and auto-immune disorders such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis and thyroid conditions.
    • Urinary disorders including acute/chronic urinary tract infections and kidney stones.
    • Cardiovascular conditions such as hypertension (high blood pressure), high cholesterol, and heart disease.
    • Endocrine disorders including diabetes, thyroid and adrenal disorders.
    • Women’s health conditions including menstrual irregularities, PMS, infertility, pregnancy, IVF, and menopause.
    • Men’s health including prostate health and fertility issues.
    • Weight management and healthy lifestyle counseling.
    • Musculoskeletal conditions and sports injuries.
    • Stress management.
    • Smoking cessation and addiction management.

As a practitioner, Galia’s focus is on guiding the individual in achieving optimal health by gently assisting the body’s natural healing mechanisms. Every patient receives a physical examination, laboratory assessment, and an individualised treatment plan.

Galia is passionate about integrative medicine and works towards bridging different types of physicians to work together to offer patients the best possible healthcare.
