Gerald Quigley
Gerald Quigley brings to Salus a unique blend of skills. Gerald has practised as a Pharmacist for over 30 years and he is currently undertaking his Masters in Herbal Medicine.
It is not uncommon for patients to require both prescribed pharmaceutical drugs and to use complementary medicines at the same time.
In an individual consultation setting Gerald will assess the complete schedule of all medicines, and the focus of this assessment is to ensure that the use of both types of medicines are safe and indeed complementary to each other and pose no risk to the patient. This assessment report is both educational to the patient and is welcomed as a reference guide to associated practitioners involved in the patient’s care.
The combination of training and pharmacy experience that Gerald has will greatly benefit the patients of Salus who can now have an assessment of all medicines being taken.
Gerald believes that the use of both herbal and complementary medicines is of benefit to the individual taking pharmaceutical drugs commonly prescribed for long-term illness conditions.
Gerald supports the use of natural medicines, and in particular prescribes nutritional supplementation to alleviate common nutrient deficiencies caused by the long term use of prescribed drugs.
Gerald is a regular guest on 3AW693 Melbourne where he discusses health options, gives guidance around health decisions, and he actively encourages people to take the initiative in their health management.
Gerald also welcomes new patients that may wish to discuss the use of herbal medicines for any existing health condition or for protective and preventative measures.
